CULTIVATE Module 2 Participants Announcement
10 January 2025
in-tangible institute is pleased to announce the second cohort of CULTIVATE: A Professional Development Program for Curators and Arts Managers. Each of the 5 CULTIVATE modules brings world-renowned faculty to Bangkok to develop select arts professionals with skills and networks to distinguish themselves and their affiliates as leading facilitators of contemporary art in the region and beyond. Module 2 is hosted by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
This second cohort is a distinguished group of 18 practicing curators, arts managers, entrepreneurs and collectors from across Southeast Asia, leading/initiating/supporting independent and institutional initiatives across the region.
The impressive caliber of these participants reflects a keen interest from curators and arts managers to engage far beyond the region, demonstrating the field’s increasing recognition of the need to bridge emerging talent in the Southeast Asian art world with global collaborators. Participants are selected through a competitive application process designed to identify leadership potential, capacity for mentorship, and the relevancy of their work to the program module focus.
CULTIVATE Module 2 focuses on ‘Patronage’, examining the current structures of support in the Arts, with particular reflection on the financial, intellectual and ethical impact of its assumptions on the growth of the arts ecology in Southeast Asia.
Participants will build practical know-how and lasting networks through a rigorous seminar program, case study development, group discussions, and 1:1 mentorship. The Module 2 onsite intensive at Bangkok Art and Culture Center takes place from February 18 – 24, followed by online mentoring continuing through May 2025.
